JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard)※All products are certified JIS

Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) pursue the most reliable quality of Japanese industrial products in accordance with the Industrial Standardization Law. Wallpapers provided by Achilles comply with the standards for safe use,
as do other wallpapers classified under JIS A 6921.

In order to use wallpapers into Japanese building, companies are required to acquire a certification from the Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) or the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transportation and Tourism, and clarify the formaldehyde emission rate. Building materials are classified into four types according to the emission rate.
As for wallpapers, all of the JIS-certified wallpapers falls under the classification with the shortest emission rate of formaldehyde, "Approved for use without restrictions (F☆☆☆☆)."
Achilles wallpapers comply with JIS and can be used without restrictions (F☆☆☆☆).

Fire retardant

JAPAN: Quasi-noncombustible material certification acquired
CHINA: B1 Class passed in GB standard fire-protection test.

Good lightfastness

Fading is regulated by JIS, and Achilles wallpapers comply with it.

Antibacterial

A material with antibacterial property is used for the wallpaper.
The proliferation of bacteria attached to the surface of the wallpaper is controlled. 
※It does not mean the wallpaper makes completely disappear bacteria.

Antifungus

The wallpaper is mildew-proofed. It controls mold growth on the wallpaper surface.

Water repellent

The surface of the wallpaper is specially treated to repel water. It does not stain easily compared to ordinary vinyl wallpaper, and daily, light water-based stains can be wiped off quickly.

Antistain

The surface of the wallpaper is laminated with a special film.
Stains or water attached to the wallpaper can be wiped off with water or detergent.

Apply adhesive to the back of wallpapers.
After applying adhesive to the wallpapers, take plenty of time before taking the next step.
This will make the installation of wallpapers easier, and prevent trapped air and ripped seams.

When wallpapers are removed, backing will be delaminated, and wallpapers will remain on the substrate.
Achilles recommend adhesive “Starch adhesive”.

Wallpaper has high durability, made of special compounded and with special film laminated, also Scratch-resistence.
